Stone Valley Trail Maintenance
Two days of maintenance and improvements were completed on the Stone Valley Trail on October 15 and 16, 2005.
The event, organized by the Laurentian Chapter of the Adirondack Mountain Club (ADK) involved over 25 volunteers during two rainy but very productive days. Projects completed include: a new 28' bridge over the O'Malley Brook; two new bridges on the west side trail; four bog bridges that traverse muddy areas; and a new section of trail that traverses the north west side of the river. In addition to ADK volunteers, there was a strong contribution from the SUNY Potsdam Wilderness Education Program, the Clarkson Mountain Biking Club, and the International Mountain Biker's Association (IMBA). The generous contributions from Brascan Power for the bridge construction materials are also greatly appreciated. Mark Simon, Stone Valley Trail Coordinator, organized the work day. Thanks are extended to all who took part.
