Fall PotLuck Presentation
The Laurentian Chapter Fall Potluck and Annual Meeting will be held Sunday, November
2, at the Canton Presbyterian Church, 17 Park Street. It has been several years
since we’ve held the Fall meeting in Canton, and are looking forward to
Surviving the Winter in the North Country”

Please bring a dish to pass and tableware for yourselves. Coffee and tea will
be provided. We will gather at 5pm and plan to eat at 5:30. Dinner will be
followed by a short annual meeting. The evening will conclude with Roy Horst’s
presentation “Surviving the Winter in the North Country.”
Biography of Roy Horst
Roy Horst earned his B.A. in Biology at Wagner College and Ph.D. in Zoology at Cornell University. He served on the faculties of the University of Arizona, University of Vermont, and SUNY-Potsdam.
He is a Life Member of the American Society of Mammalogists and the North
American Society of Bat Research (currently serving as Program Director) and
Chairman of the Education Committee of the St. Lawrence Environmental Council.
His research interests have been on tropical vampire bats and their adaptations
to arid conditions and the population dynamics of exotic species especially
mongooses in the Caribbean and Hawaiian Islands.
