Laurentian Chapter Basket for A Black Fly Affair
The ADK’s largest fund raiser event of the year, A Black Fly Affair, takes place in Lake George on Friday May 21. A tradition of these annual gatherings is the auction of baskets donated by each Chapter. The Club hopes to have every Chapter represented, and we’re planning to contribute one from Laurentian. Each basket will have a theme; ours is "The Friendly Border", and will feature a variety of small items representing eastern Ontario, western Quebec, and St. Lawrence County.
We haven’t budgeted Chapter funds for this purpose, rather it is hoped that members will donate items to make it happen. The Club’s guidelines are to stay under a total value of $200 for the whole basket, and generally not to incude items that necessitate travelling to our area. We’d be grateful if you could contribute a small item that represents in some way the Chapter’s area. One good chance to convey it to us will be at the Laurentian Chapter’s Mud Season Potluck on April 25. Other than that date, contributions can be made to Blair and Marg Madore (who have volunteered to coordinate and assemble the basket), at firstname.lastname@example.org or (315) 265-0602. Our approximate closing date will be May 1, depending on how we will send our basket to the organizers.
If you have questions you can contact the Madores or
