Chair's Report
January, 2006

- Outgoing Chair: Ron JohnsonThe last two years as Laurentian Chapter chair have gone by quickly for me, and I thank you for the opportunity to serve. I also would like to thank those who have served during my tenure in both elected and appointed positions.
Much has been accomplished during the last two years. I’ll mention just a couple of those accomplishments:
Our chapter website has grown to one we can all be proud of under the tutelage of first Tom Wheeler, then Sandy Hildreth, and now David Katz.
The chapter acts as steward of the existing Stone Valley trail and now the new Red Sandstone trail. With Brascan’s relicensing agreement has come an annual pool of money which has been, and will be, helpful in the continued stewardship of these trails.
Our chapter has much to offer, whether it is outings, conservation efforts, trail stewardship or educational programs. If you haven’t already done so, I urge you to get involved.
Again, many thanks for the opportunity to serve as your chair. Please support our new executive committee.
- Incoming Chair: Tom OrtmeyerI am pleased to have been selected to be the chapter chair and I’m looking forward to serving the chapter in this capacity. I believe that we have an excellent leadership group for the upcoming year. I’d like to thank Ron Johnson for his leadership over the last two years—as he notes above it has been a busy and productive period. I would also like to acknowledge the outgoing Education Chair Eileen Wheeler and the outgoing Director Sandy Hildreth, both of whom have provided excellent leadership in their positions. I would also like to welcome Rose Rivezzi as the incoming Education Chair.
Finally, on behalf of the chapter, I would like to acknowledge the leadership of Tom Wheeler as his term as president of the club comes to a close. I am pleased that he has consented to represent the chapter as our incoming director.
