Outings Report
July, 2006
- Vice-Chair, Recreation: Armond Spencer
Well, spring treated us a little better than winter, and then it got HOT. Here's hoping for a better summer.
Ann and I had to cancel our Round Lake canoe trip, but we had been in earlier to scout it out. We think it is a neat place, and deserves to be traveled. The restrictions have been lifted and one can put in near the bridge on the Sabbatis Road between Little Tupper Lake and the inlet to Round Lake.
One lesson we relearned this spring was Outing Rule Number One: Do not judge trail conditions by the conditions in your back yard! Remember that the chapter provides first-aid kits for trip leaders. You can pick up one and return it to the Ortmeyers' back porch.
Once again I would like to thank the folks who have provided leadership on outings and to encourage others to try it. See you on the trails and the waterways.
